overview

Coffee has quickly become one of the world’s top-traded commodities, and the demand only continues to grow. Roughly 70 countries across the globe grow coffee, but the coffee of the foothills of Nepal’s Himalaya is unique. We invite you to visit Takure, a small village in the mountains, to plant, harvest, process and drink delicious coffee alongside local farmers and the Conscious Impact team.

Since 2015, in response to the April 25th, 2015 earthquake in Nepal, Conscious Impact has worked directly with the community of Takure and other villages across Sindhupalchok, Nepal to support reconstruction, sustainable agriculture, youth empowerment and community infrastructure. Now that schools and homes are finally rebuilt, our focus has shifted - 99% of local community members engage in agriculture, and therefore the best way to support local families is through agriculture. Our passions are reforestation, sustainable agroforestry, permaculture and sustainable livelihoods. Coffee achieves every one of these goals. Every tree planted provides additional annual income to a local family of up to USD 50 (5,000 NPR), which supports their quality of life greatly. Additionally, each tree helps to rebuild soil, prevents erosion and mitigates climate change.

Nepali coffee is good for the earth, good for local families and good for all of us.

Come join us in Takure to get fully immersed in the world of coffee!
